Sari in fragments, with large portions of sides missing. Red woven cotton, with silk and metal-wrapped wefts in horizontal bands in primary end. Bands of yellow cotton in interior end. Side borders in a diamond pattern, green on one side and white on the other.

Sari in fragments, with large portions of sides missing. Red woven cotton, with silk and metal-wrapped wefts in horizontal bands in primary end. Bands of yellow cotton in interior end. Side borders in a diamond pattern, green on one side and white on the other.

Object history
Transferred from the India Museum in 1879. Slip book entry 11977: 'Woman's Garment / Saree / Madras / 73 / 134 [possibly 137] - / Original nos. 1083 / Red Cotton Gauze Centre. Narrow Green Silk borders on one Side - Grey on the opposite - Gold striped principal end.'
