The figure wears a late 19th century silk gown with long puffed sleeves in grey/green. The collar, cuffs, and front of the bodice are decorated with white lace. The cuffs and collar are also edged in pleated organza frills. The design has been drawn and painted over a light grey wash. Annotated by the artist.

This Costume design by Anthony Holland is part of an extensive collection of designs donated to the Theatre Museum by the artist in 1996. The design was executed for a production Oscar Wilde's play "An Ideal Husband" at the Strand Theatre, 1965.
