Costume design for Angus Lennie as an Ugly Sister in "Cinderella". The design depicts a full length male figure. The figure wears an elaborate pantomime costume in the style of a "punk". The costume consists of a yellow fake fur jacket decorated with safety pins and studded belts; an orange T-Shirt decorated with various "punk" badges and safety pins; a pair of ripped white bloomers worn over a pair of pink tights with holes; and a pair of pink brogues with white soles. Two bondage belts are worn just below the knees and around the ankles. He wears a pair of broken handcuffs around each wrist, a chain necklace, a pair of padlock ear-rings, and a screw through the nose. The figures bright pink hair is spiked into a "mohican" style. On the reverse of the design is a biro drawing, possibly depicting a punk hairstyle.

Object history
This costume design by Anthony Holland is part of an extensive collection of designs donated to the Theatre Museum by the artist in 1996. The design was executed for a production of the pantomime "Cinderella" at the King's Theatre, Edinburgh, December 7th, 1979. The production was directed by Bruce McClure, and the settings and costumes were designed by Berkeley Sutcliffe. Anthony Holland designed the costumes for the Ugly Sisters.

Historical significance: An example of late 20th century costume design for a pantomime dame by an artist who worked extensively in this specialised area.
