Teapot with lid, part of a tea set (FE.32 to J-1980). The teapot is small, and of squat globular form with small spout and bell-shaped handle. Dense buffish earthenware, covered with a thick cream glaze with a dense and somewhat discoloured crackle. Fired on the flat base, which is unglazed.
The decoration consists of a peacock among peonies, sundry birds and geometric border painted in red, green, black, turquoise, pink and blue enamels and extensively gilded.
