Cylindrdical in shape, the body carved and pierced with eight figures of Arhats (Buddhist apostles or missionaries) amid pine trees; the figures are in two stages, above being five and below three; four are riding on animals, the remainder being on foot. At each end is a band of fret ornament, beyond which is a horn cap with a hole in the middle, into which fits a rosewood stopper.(pre 2005) |
