Hanging Scroll

Flowering branch of plum blossom in ink on paper. The petals are in reserve-white, a technique that preserves the underling white colour of the paper and contrasts it against a faint ink wash that covers the surrounding surface. The middle of the blossoming branch is shrouded in mist, rendered in exceptionally feint ink outline without the use of reserve white. The artist's signature sits in upper left, with two seals. There is an additional seal in the lower centre.
