Physical description

Bowl of earthenware transfer-printed with underglaze blue. The outside has two large and two small Chinese garden scenes with pagodas, boats and figures. Inside is a border of cell-pattern above a band of Chinese diapers and formal motives edged with leafy sprays. In the middle are the words 'May / we never / want a friend, / and a bottle / to give / him'.
