Writing box (suzuribako) depicting the folded paper and wrapper used in the Incense Ceremony. The brocade pattern badges and flowers are in togidashi-e (polished out picture) in various colours. The interior is decorated with a table and vessels for burning incense and is depicted in togidashi-e of gold, silver and various colours. The interior also contains a waterbottle in the shape of an open book in engraved silver as well as an inkstone.
