Acquired by Caspar Purdon Clarke on his purchasing trip to India in 1881 to 1882. 1883 Register entry: 'CHINTZ PIECE. Printed with a small repeating trellis containing a flower, in red, blue, and black on a white ground; a narrow border of running floral ornament. Masulipatam. 19th cent. L. 10 ft. 8 in., W. 3 ft. 2 in. Bought, 9s. 1768-1883 (IS)'
