Object history
Presented to the donor's great-grandmother when she was a child in India probably in the second quarter of the 19th century "by a high ranking Indian", presumably, judging from the style, a Muslim in the Panjab / Uttar Pradesh / North-West Frontier Province (now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa). It is said to have been intended as fancy dress for the little girl and appears to have been scarcely worn.
