Bears label presumably written by Robert Sewell before 1914 stating that the object comes from "a rude stone circle at Juntakal, Bellary District, Madras Presidency".

Purchased from Robert Sewell, Esq. (late ICS), 4 Bristol Gardens, Roehampton, Surrey. This acquisition information reflects that found in the Museum records (Asia Department registers and/or Central Inventory) as part of a 2023 provenance research project.
