Described in the 1883 inventory as a 'portion of a pilaster capital from the necking of an octagonal pier to the square abacus above. The capital, a water vessel enriched with fluting and floral decoration, from the mouth of which issues rich pendant foliage at the corner. The lota rests on a circular cushion, which represents the pad used by women when carrying water vessels. From an ancient Hindu temple at Ajmer, destroyed by the Emperor Altomash in the beginning of the 13th century AD.
