Object history | Transferred from the India Museum in 1879. Slip book entry 6269: 'Suit of men's clothes / Kotah / 1867 / Org. Nos. 2403-2406 / Consisting of 4 pieces worn by the Maha Raj Rana of Jhallawar'. 1880 Register Entry 05844: 'DRESS. Red muslin, with silver border. "Pyjamas," striped silk. Scarf, amber silk, with silver border. Turban, red muslin; Kotah.' According to Central Inventory records, and consistent with 1867 exhibition catalogues, the original ensemble consisted of a turban, jama, sash, and pyjama trousers. |
