Cabinet for incense utensils of thin cypress wood (hinoki) boards covered with tortoiseshell, rectangular in form and with a drop-fronted, removeable panel on its widest side, decorated with autumn plants in gold and silver hiramaki-e and takamaki-e lacquer with kirikane, together with applied metal chrysanthemums, peonies and a rabbit. The interior is fitted with a drawer at the bottom which runs the full width of the cabinet, above which to the left is a frame to hold five smaller and narrower drawers, with a shelf at the top for a tray with everted rims, as well as a squared, lidded container with curved sides and lined with gilt gold for burning incense on the right. The cabinet has silver fittings, including a lockplate and a handle on the top.
