Plate of porcelain, painted with overglaze enamels in the famille rose palette and gilt, with a Watteauesque scene. With low rounded well and flat spreading rim; the base recessed within the foot. Painted inside in the centre is a scene after a European print with a man reclining under a tree playing a lute, a woman playing a triangle and a man with castanets, in a landscape setting; also depicted are two barrels, a flask and two glasses. Encircling the rim is a border of imitation rococo scrollwork. The edge of the rim is gilt.
