Bowl of porcelain, painted in red and gilt. The decoration is disposed in panels reserved on a red ground, diaper in gold with floral or geometrical patterns. Inside on the bottom is a group of Chinese sages examining a scroll; in four shaped panels round the side are a lion, chrysanthemums, tree-peonies, and an iris-flower. In four external panels are a phoenix, two seated figures of old men, and a dragon amid clouds.
