Plate of porcelain, painted in doucai style in underglaze blue and transparent coloured enamels. Inside the middle is a group of lotuses and reeds growing in water with two waterfowl; a frieze composed of the same motives decorates the underside of the rim. Round the rim inside is a narrow border of characters alternately in red and blue.
