Plate, porcelain, of octagonal shape with flat sloping rim, painted in famille rose enamels and gold. In the centre is painted the arms of Wilson of Soonhope and Edinburgh with a rococco shield, Argent a chevron between three mullets gules; crest, A dexter hand holding a pen, framed in scrollwork and flowers with a motto above 'Virtute et labore' surrounded by four flower sprays mainly in puce and green with a red and gold sawtooth band round the well. Round the rim are swags of seeded green enamel framed in gilt scrollwork.
