Octagonal plate with flat, spreading rim and indented corners. Painted within the centre the arms of Temple, Viscount Palmerston, quartered by Leofric, Earl of Mercia, 1. and 4. Or an eagle displayed sable, 2. and 3. Argent two bars sable each charged with three martlets or; crest, a talbot sejant collared and lined or; supporters, Dexter a lion regardant pean, sinister a horse regardant argent, maned, tailed and hooved or; Motto 'Flecti non frangi'. Round the well and rim are borders in blue of cash-diaper, lozenge shape diaper with spearhead frieze in blue and gold.
