Cup of porcelain, octagonal, moulded and painted in red, blue and black enamels and gilt. It has straight, slightly spreading sides and a low octagonal footring. The base is glazed, with grit adhering at the edges. Above the foot are two ranks of moulded petals, and on each face of the sides is a moulded figure. The petals are outlined in red and gold, the lower rank being coloured pale red. The figures are framed in shaped rectangular panels similarly painted, and are themselves painted in detail; they represent standing or dancing personages in a variety of dress. Above and below are spray motifs reserved on a dark red ground. Inside at the bottom are red and gilt rosettes.
