Cup and saucer of 'eggshell' porcelain, painted in overglaze enamels and gilt. Both pieces are painted with a view of a room opening on to a walled garden with an archway. Inside the room are a lady seated at a writing-table and another standing by with a little boy; in the foreground are two small storks. Round the saucer and inside the cup is a border of gilt conventional flowers and foliage, and on the bottom of the cup, which has no handle; is a flower.
