  • This fragment depicting two princes on horseback, closely pursued by an elephant, conveys the animated and energetic style of hunting scenes typical of the Kota region. Collecting drawings, sketches and unfinished studies was a passion for Colonel Thomas Gayer-Anderson, one of the twin brothers who donated this work. It is part of a group of 400 paintings and drawings presented to the museum in 1952.(March 2022)
