Painting, in opaque watercolour and gold on paper, Krishna's departure by chariot from Brindaban for Mathura, having disregarded the gopis' pleas that he should remain. The small Krishna in the bottom left corner is probably the red Krishna, their erstwhile lover, whom they treasure in their minds, as against the new Krishna who is about to fulfil his destiny, abandon Brindaban and vanquish Kanza.
