Object history
Lord Amherst was Governor General of India 1823-8. He, his wife and daughter were all interested in natural history, and a tree, the 'Flame Amherstia', was named after them.
Production
Probably by the Calcutta artist who accompanied the British Commissioners to Burma, 1825
