Kochukunhu Jayapal Panicker was born in 1938 in Tamilnadu. He attended the Government School of Arts and Crafts, Madras in 1966. He died in 2003 in Kerala.

In this varnished watercolour the artist has used a style inspired by primitivism that is reminiscent of the art of Paul Klee. The loose geometry of the body is composed of curved and straight coloured lines thus adding an organic feeling to the composition.
