The tile has a yellow ground and is painted with a stylised flowering plant with three main branching stems and pinnate green leaves ending in flowers, each consisting of six petals with a long arching stamen rising from the centre. The flowers and one bud on the cetnral stem are painted in orange, blue, manganese purple, white with the stamens in brown. Above there is a green lateral border between a pair of orange stripes decorated with a scrolling foliate design in yellow with orange and pale purple floral motifs.The surface of the tile is much abraded and the upper left hand corner is missing.

Object history
Said to be from the tomb of Asaf Khan. 'Together with Nos. 25 and 26/'87 it was secured from a heap of rubbish during Captn. Cole's restoration of Indian Monumts' according to the accession register. Its condition was noted: 'Glaze much damaged, much missing'.

Purchased from R. Poyser Esq., 6 Cyprus Villas, Arthur Street, Aldershot. This acquisition information reflects that found in the Museum records (Asia Department registers and/or Central Inventory) as part of a 2023 provenance research project.
