The figure wears an elaborate black wig decorated with chop sticks and white flowers. Some of the background around the figure is painted in pale blue. The design is signed and annotated with the name of the production, act & scene, and character.

Object history
This costume design by Anthony Holland is part of an extensive collection of designs donated to the Theatre Museum by the artist in 1996. This design was executed for the production of Aladdin on Ice held at the Empire Pool, Wembley, 1974. The production was directed and produced by Gerald Palmer, with choreography by Reg Park.

Historical significance: An example of ice show costume design by an artist who specialised in this field during the second half of the 20th century.
