Object history
Part of a collection of tools and materials illustrating the process of woodblock printing as practised in Japan. Presented by Miyata Rokuzaemon (through Mr. H. Yamawaki, Commissioner General of the Imperial Japanese Commission to the Panama Pacific International Exposition, Tokyo) in exchange for a similar set illustrating the process of wood engraving in Britain.
