Gallery label | In addition to photographs, David Shrigley’s creative output includes drawings, paintings, sculptures, animations and installation. With a wry sense of humour, he imparts tales of everyday encounters with his own very distinctive voice. Here, he imagines an absurdist garden in which humble carrots grow side-by-side with exotic but inedible cacti. The carrots are represented not as actual vegetables, but as a picture printed on a packet of seeds. (11/08/2011-27/11/2011) |
