Place of origin |
This plaster fountain nymph is made by Alexander Munro (1825-1871), a Scottish born (Inverness) sculptor in ca. 1863, probably in London, where he lived.
The plaster is related to the figure of a Fountain Nymph incorporated into the monument to Herbert Ingram at Boston, Lincolnshire. The bronze figure, produced by Elkington was installed on the monument in September 1863, the statue of Ingram having been unveiled in 1862.
Munro was a British sculptor of the Pre-Raphaelite movement.
