Animals are a dominant theme in Susan Halls' work. This dog was constructed using wheel-thrown cones and cylinders for the different body parts. The sections were assembled while they were still wet. The rough joints and visible throwing rings give the sculpture a feeling of energy and spontaneity.

Physical description
Unglazed figure of a standing dog. The dog is made entirely of wheel-thrown sections which are assembled when the clay was still wet. Scars at the tops of the legs show where the dog has been supported during assembly. Unmarked.
