This medal depicting the Emperor Nero, is made in the 19th century, possibly in Italy. It is a poorly-observed and executed copy of the reverse of a medal of Nero by the Medallist of the Roman Emperors. This medallist (possibly to be identified as Antonio Averlino, called Filarete) worked in the last quarter of the 15th century in Northern Italy and produced fanciful medals of the Roman Emperors.
