Object history | Given by John Amyatt Chaundy (J.A.C.) Vincent Esq. (1826-1905), who was born in Bengal, the son of a Lieutenant-Colonel in the East India Company. J.A.C. Vincent was an architect, historian, and antiquarian with an office at 61 Lincoln’s Inn Fields. In 1889 he gave three sandstone screens (jalis) to the museum. His diaries from 1861 to 1871 are in Wigan Archives and show a later focus on genealogy and history. |
