The bowl is decorated with putti and sea-horse and inscribed with the letters A.A. While the bowl is though to have been made in North Italy during the second half of the 15th century, the gilt bronze foot is of a later date, perhaps 18th century.

Physical description | Bronze bowl of flattened and incurved form ornamented in relief with sea-horses supporting armorial shields, the tails of the animals being grasped by amorini. It is supported by a circular foot of copper (of later date, perhaps 18th century), chased with diapered bands and gilt. |
