Throne cover (tikhap) consisting of a British broadcloth with a Bhutan cotton fringe. The design is cut from yellow, blue, white and green strips of broadcloth applied onto a red broadcloth background. Within each corner of an outer yellow border are areas of symmetrically arranged scrollwork enclosing the central field. Between each area of scrollwork is a single flaring jewel framed within ribbons and between each jewel a phoenix grasping in its beak a sprig of vegetation. The central area is occupied by a circle enclosing an emblem in red, blue and white. This emblem is surrounded by open lotus petals in contrasting colours.
