SCIMITAR (QILIJ)
The blade of watered steel chiselled and inlaid in gold with religious invocations : maker's stamp,MUSA. Guard and scabbard - mounts of silver, originally gilt.
TURKISH ; the blade 16th or 17th century, the hilt and scabbard early 19th century.
