Brief description
Silver-gilt and silver-plated pendant set with green pastes, Valencia (Spain), 1865-1870.
Physical description
Three-part openwork pendant set with green pastes, square-cut in imitation of emeralds, in closed settings. The three separate parts do not match. The top part is made of gilt copper, in the shape of a stylised cross, but with the lower vertical arm split open at the end. It has a ring for suspension at the top. The central part is shaped like a crescent, and is made of silver-gilt. The lowest part appears to be the top part of a different pendant. It is made of gilt copper and has a central conical mount, with pastes set on the sides and top. The pastes are of a darker colour than on the other two parts. It has two vertical bars on the back, for suspension.
