Pap Boat

Baby's pap boat of hallmarked London silver gilt by the partnership o
Rebecca Emes and Edward Barnard. The shallow handle-less vessel is
pear-shaped, with a flattened base and plain pouring lip; the edges
are otherwise gadrooned, with a foliate seashell at the centre back
(opposite the lip). The pap boat is inscribed "Sally Maria" beneath
the lip, and was probably a Christening present.
