Facetted garnet bead necklace with gold and garnet clasp, Württemberg (Germany), 1850-1870.
Physical description
Garnet necklace with gold clasp. The necklace consists of six rows of oval facetted garnet beads gathered at each end into a hollow gold scroll. The two scrolls are linked by a hollow gold element, set with a rosette of garnets, and with a small gold and garnet pendant hanging from its lower edge. There is a snap clasp at one side of the central element.
