The box takes the form of a compressed pyramid with flattened edges, it opens by means of a hinge along the longest side. The exterior polioshed, the interior has been left in the rough. The lid is partially decorated with a diamond shaped gold panel inlaid with red gold stripes. Four red gold rivets hold the panel in place.
