Chest lock with hasp and key in pierced and chiselled steel. The centre is enclosed by columns, pierced borders and a key with a square handle and circular centre of geometrical tracery. A hinged panel reveals the keyhole. The lock is signed 'P T PICHET 1731' and the key 'PP'. An example of the 18th century revival of medieval ornament with tracery panels.
