Physical description

Wrought iron chest lock and key, chiselled steel key; the wards pierced in quatrefoils, the barrel of the key fluted, and the bow ornamented with raised bosses.
The lock stamped on the front with an indecipherable inscription 'ET . CVR . ; LINI . TS' and on the back with the mark 'VERTE' in a rectangular field, perhaps that of the maker.
