1865-1870 (made)
Artist/Maker | |
Place of origin |
Finger rings are one of the most popular kinds of jewellery. They have been used in almost all places throughout history, and, unlike most other pieces, were commonly worn as much by men as by women.
Multiple rings, sometimes intertwined as puzzle rings, are found among the traditional jewellery of many countries. The tiny pendent heart and key in this example suggest that it was probably a betrothal ring. It was bought in Murcia as an example of traditional jewellery in 1870.
