Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Filigree was one of the most distinctive products of Spanish silversmiths in the 19th century, and was used particularly for traditional jewellery. This ring was acquired for the Museum in Cordoba in 1871 as an example of traditional jewellery, but the type of filigree is not typical of the area. It is more likely to have been made as an ephemeral fashion item.
