Object history | The vendor (a descendant of the artist John Crome) married in Cairo early in WW2. With the war & this place of residence in mind she began to collect traditional English clothes for the children she hoped to have: Dinah & Simon Prewin were born in Cairo in 1941 & 1944 respectively, and lived there for some years. |
