This ring was exhibited as an example of traditional Albanian jewellery at the International Exhibition, London, in 1872. It was subsequently bought by the Museum for five shillings. Rings like this, with true filigree decoration as well as the imitation cast filigree used here, were worn throughout the Balkans in the 19th and early 20th centuries. The double-headed eagle on the bezel was a common symbol of power in the region.

| Physical description | Cast silver ring, heavily tarnished, with flat shank and flat octagonal bezel. The shank is decorated with imitation twisted wire along the outside of the back, and with coil rings on the shoulders. The bezel is a vertical rectangle with the corners cut off. It is incised with a crude image of a crowned double-headed eagle. |
