This ring was acquired by the Museum in 1871 as part of a large collection of rings which had been assembled by the Victorian scholar Edmund Waterton. It was believed at that time to be 17th-century Albanian but may be later. Old-style rings remained in use in the Balkans, as part of traditional costume, up to the early 20th century.

Physical description | Bronze ring with a shallow D-section shank and flat oval bezel with a scalloped rim. The bezel is raised above the level of the shank by three props with two cylindrical holes between them. There is a stylised niello flower on the face of the bezel, and a cross on each shoulder. |
