This necklace was described as having been bought in Paris as Egyptian in 1923, shortly after the discovery of Tutankhamen’s tomb.
The pendent beads are identical to those on another necklace in the collection (CIRC.33-1951), which is said to have been bought in Jerusalem, and to have been worn by Mohammedan women.
