This kozuka, the handle of a scabbard-knife, is made of the copper-silver alloy shibuichi. The design is of a court lady and servant, the latter rescuing with a broom a shuttlecock caught in New Year decorations. The back, with lower corner in gold, shows young pine and bamboo.
