Noddy is the most popular character created by children's author Enid Blyton (1897-1968). The first book, Little Noddy Goes to Toyland, was published in 1949 and was followed by twenty-three further titles. It has been estimated that 200 million Noddy books have been sold worldwide. Noddy has become a huge industry, spawning not only books and television series, but every conceivable item of merchadise from toys to duvet covers.

Stuffed cotton doll figure with red and yellow shoes which have pale blue ribbon laces; blue felt shorts; red velvet jacket; red spotted neckerchief; pale blue pointed hat with bell. The face is velvet with painted eyes and mouth.
